MSO Book Week Day 4: Books about Food

The fourth day of MSO Book Week was celebrated with a little something called the Books and Blankets Breakfast. Students were invited to wear their pajamas to school and, yes, bring their blankets! Parents and the school provided breakfast. There were muffins to be had by all! Room 8’s Mystery Readers stopped by for storytime:

ReadathonYes, the students loved reading under the tables. But more than that–they were excited about reading, PERIOD. It was an all-day activity, and a challenge to ourselves to see how high our number could climb. We kept a tally on the whiteboard and counted all our hash marks at the end of the day:

I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the number above–but that’s not the point. The point was how excited the class was about reading! Speaking of excitement, we also had a Used Book Sale during MSO Book Week. During the Readathon, the Book Sale acted as a Lending Library for my eager readers:
